Today Microids officially announced the release date of its upcoming anime-inspired action game UFO Robot Grendizer: The Feast of the Wolves.

The game will launch worldwide on November 14, 2023, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Only the Nintendo Switch version doesn't get a release date. All we know is that it'll come in 2024.

The game is inspired by the legendary Super Robot anime and manga UFO Robot Grendizer created by Go Nagai, which debuted in 1975. While it's not as famous in Anglophone countries, there's probably no one belonging to my generation in Italian and French-speaking countries (where it's called Goldrake and Goldorak respectively) who hasn't at least heard about it. We basically grew up watching Go Nagai's anime on TV.

The game follows the first story arc of the anime series, from which it'll also feature the memorable music themes, re-orchestrated for the occasion. If you want to see more, you can check out plenty of gameplay showcased at Japan Expo in Paris and a previous trailer

Below you can also find mockups for the Collector's Edition and Deluxe Edition (the latter appears to be coming only in Europe).

If you'd like to know more, here's how the publisher officially describes the game:

Based on the famous anime adapted from Go Nagai’s manga UFO Robot Grendizer, this action game will grant nostalgic gamers the chance to play as Duke Fleet and his great robot and enjoy epic adventures.

A unique opportunity to dive headfirst into an iconic pop culture universe filled with bravery, treason and sensational battles!

The cult animated series was one of the first successful exports of Japanese animation at the end of the 70’s.

We all remember the iconic battles and the Grendizer’s weaponry used to defeat King Vega’s forces, launching attacks on Earth from its secret base hidden on the dark side of the moon. Are you ready for a legendary comeback?
