Total War: Pharaoh Reveals First Gameplay Including Campaign, Battles, & More Set in Bronze Age Egypt

Total War: Pharaoh - the Pharaoh is fascinated by a dung beetle... apparently.

Today Creative Assembly revealed the first gameplay of the upcoming Total War strategy game Total War: Pharaoh

The video lasts a whole 45 minutes following the announcement of the new game, and it includes an in-depth explanation of what the game is all about, on top of a look at what you can expect from both the campaign and the franchise's traditional massive battles.

The game is set during the collapse of the Bronze Age when the coming of the still-debated "Sea People" caused the fall of many civilizations around the Mediterranean Sea. Interestingly, this crisis is represented within the game with an increasingly apocalyptic look and feel as the campaign progresses.

You can check it out below.

Total War: Pharaoh will release exclusively for PC on Steam and Epic Games Store in October 2023, and it'll come in three formats. The standard version for $59.99, the Deluxe Edition for $72.87, and the Dynasty Edition for $91.46. A precise release date has not been announced just yet.

If you prefer a less historical setting, an extensive roadmap for updates for Total War: Warhammer 3 has been revealed a few days ago. While Pharaoh is coming out this year, Creative Assembly still intends to continue supporting its popular rendition of Games Workshop's fantasy IP for a long time, well into 2024 and even beyond. This shouldn't be surprising, considering that Games Workshop itself is looking to revive its classic setting with The Old World, several years after the incredibly misguided decision that led to it being discarded.
