Nintendo has announced that their next Nintendo Direct will air tomorrow at 5 PM Eastern. The press release states that the 35-minute long livestream will have new information on Fire Emblem: Three Houses as well as some other Nintendo Switch games.
The one concrete detail we have on what games to expect is Fire Emblem: Three Houses. This will represent the latest console release for the series, which hasn't seen a (main) console entry since 2007's Radiant Dawn for the Wii. This entry will take place in the land of Fódlan, where the Church of Seiros exercises great power over the land and its people. It's been hinted that generic troops will play a bigger role in this game. The story will feature the lancer Dimitri, the archer Claude, and sword/axewoman Edelgard as the central Lords.
There's plenty of Nintendo Switch games that could also be in this Nintendo Direct. Nintendo has said that there's at least one unannounced title we can expect to hear about this year. However, one game we're likely not to see is Metroid Prime 4. The game recently got its development rebooted and handed off to Retro Studios, the studio behind the original Metroid Prime trilogy.
However, this doesn't mean we won't be seeing Metroid Prime at all. There have been rumors of a Metroid Prime trilogy compilation in the works. Some industry insiders even suggest it's ready to release whenever Nintendo chooses to do so. We've been waiting a long time for this Nintendo Direct. This has been the longest wait between Directs so far (unless you count the wait between the company opening and the first direct!), so the fans are really excited about this one!
You can watch the Nintendo Direct when it starts here. It begins February 13 at 5 PM Eastern.
