Taxi Life, the second collaboration between Simteract and Nacon, has just been announced for an early access release on PC and consoles. The first was Train Life: A Railway Simulator, which is currently in Early Access and has a 81% 'Very Positive' score on Steam. In Taxi Life, players will drive around Barcelona and take customers where they need to go in an "open world playing field." There are more than 200 buildings, monuments, sculptures, and parks that have been reproduced, with Simteract's proprietary tech such as their Traffic AI and City Generator being utilized for the title.
What else can I expect in Taxi Life?
Arriving in Barcelona with only one car and a dream, players will go out and learn the streets while discovering that being a taxi driver isn't as easy as it looks. There are traffic jams, accidents, bad weather, impatient passengers, rush couriering, and city events that can make a player's day more difficult. Barcelona has been created on a 1:1 scale, so players could kinda-sorta use this game as a training aid to eventually become taxi drivers in the famous city. Not that they'd want to, but hey, the options there.
Players can also start their own transportation company in the second-largest city in Spain. This means players will have to maintain their car in order to survive the day-to-day hustle. Players can also customize their car, character, brand, cabin, and vehicle performance, so if they feel the need for speed they can have it.
Living life in the fast lane can be fun, but there's also going to be a Free Ride mode that will allow players to enjoy the landscape. If players want to make money while doing it, they can give tours of the city while visiting different attractions and architecture in the ancient city.
