The Syberia: The World Before release date has been revealed for PC -- you'll be able to play Kate Walker's newest adventure in mid-March 2022.
Syberia: The World Before is the newest game in the Syberia franchise. The previous game Syberia 3 was one of several games brought to Nintendo Switch by Microids in 2017 and it was also featured as a GOG Connect game. While the third game had more than its fair share of issues, this new release is looking pretty darn good -- check out the trailer for its prologue:
The Syberia franchise is a group of adventures games that tell the tale of Kate Walker, a lawyer who has to travel across Europe as part of her job to facilitate the sale of a large company. Along the way, she encounters mysterious puzzles and intriguing characters in a world filled with fantastical steampunk automatons.
Syberia: The World Before mixes things up a bit by featuring two perspectives. You'll still play as Kate Walker circa 2004, but you'll also spend some time playing from the perspective of 17-year-old pianist Dana Roze in 1937. The game was originally intended to launch on December 10, 2021. However, a delay was announced a few weeks ago -- something that Microids acknowledged in today's announcement.
"We wanted to offer the best possible experience and pay a massive tribute to Kate Walker’s epic adventures envisioned by Benoît Sokal," read the Steam Community announcement that revealed the game's release date. "These extra weeks allowed the studio Koalabs and our team to be confident about delivering the game you deserve."
