If you're a fan of experimental collectible card games, you have heard of Solforge Fusion. Created by Richard Garfield (Magic: The Gathering, Keyforge) and Justin Gary (Ascension), this Hybrid Deck game will be getting a digital version on Steam. And thanks to the Steam Deckbuilders Fest, a Solforge Fusion demo is now available.

The Solforge Fusion Demo Announcement

According to an official press release, the Solforge Fusion demo will introduce players to the rules of the game. Like the physical card game, players can combine algorithmically generated and printed half-decks to create countless strategies and deck combinations. This means your deck is as unique as anyone else's.

Let's see how this run goes.

Another unique selling point of this card game is that cards improve as you play them. This makes each match feel like an evolving back-and-forth between you and your opponent.

This digital version of Solforge Fusion is being published by Stone Blade Entertainment. The same publisher that has distributed physical Solforge Fusion sets and the upcoming Ascension Legends.

In addition to giving players a look at how this card-battler is played, the Solforge Fusion demo will feature a glimpse at a single-player roguelite campaign. The campaign will have players take on the role of Forgeborn, champions of the land of Solis. You'll duel other Forgeborn, obtaining power-ups and enhancing your deck along the way.

The full version of this digital edition of Solforge Fusion will include online competitive and casual PvP. For those that have physical Solforge Fusion cards, players can scan their decks into the game through a unique QR code. Decks in this online collection can also be used to register for tournaments and other community events.

The Solforge Fusion demo is available right now on Steam. The hardware requirements are minimal: if you have a dual-core processor and an Nvidia GeForce 8600 or better you should have no problem running. The full game will be coming to Steam Early Access later this year.
