If you're a fan of Stardew Valley and cats, you're in for a treat. Announced at this year’s Wholesome Direct showcase, Snacko is a farming sim takes place on an island of the same name. The game takes inspiration from the likes of classics such as Story of Seasons and Legend of Zelda.

As shown in the trailer, you discover an abandoned island that’s under an ancient curse and must restore the island and build a community. You step in the paws of Momo, a former big city kitty who’s quit the 9-to-5 life with her childhood best friend Mikan. On the island, you’ll learn to farm, fish, and rebuild the village while making new friends and family. There’s a large cast of characters to invite to your little village and a number of ways to decorate your little community through building and crafting mechanics.

Along the way, you’ll also uncover the mystery of the island’s curse, along with the monsters lurking about the island. The island’s geography ranges from snowy peaks to a sweltering desert, and it's littered with shrines to help you on your quest to rebuild the island. Alternatively, you can even spend your days just tending to your cows!

Visually, Snacko takes on a mix of 2D pixel art through its character sprites and 3D low-poly environments. This feline farming sim is being developed by a husband and wife duo in the form of Bluecurse Studios, based in Canada. The game also features an original soundtrack composed by California-based musician Dale North. You might have heard North's work in games like Dreamscaper, Sparklite, and Wizard of Legend.

You can get your paws on Snacko some time in 2022, when it launches for both the Nintendo Switch and PC.
