Kasedo Games and developer SomaSim have announced Rise of Industry 2, a followup to 2019's business management sim Rise of Industry.
The announcement trailer for the project is pretty amusing; it takes the form of a faux 80s infomercial, complete with presentation by a "successful businessman" by the name of Frank Wilson.
Wilson promises to impart his business secrets and teach you how to become a giant in your industry, speaking over footage of gameplay from Rise of Industry 2. It's a cute conceit.
As you'd probably expect from a Rise of Industry sequel, you'll once again be building and managing your very own business empire in Rise of Industry 2.
The game takes place in the 1980s, which developer SomaSim describes as a time of "rapid innovation, globalization and unprecedented profits". You'll be looking to carve out your own slice of that particular pie.
To do so, you'll need to optimise production chains, manage import and export operations, and build contacts to make sure that you always know the right people to get you ahead.
Rise of Industry 2 will feature a campaign mode that contains "15 unique and exciting scenarios", each of which will challenge you in a different way, according to the devs.
Of course, there will also be a sandbox mode in case you just want to relax and manage your business empire without any pesky constraints.
You'll be able to manage lots of different business types, including manufacturing, media, and electronics, and as you do so, you'll need to maintain relations not only with your board of directors, but also with the townspeople around you, who may well disapprove of what you're doing.
If you're a fan of management sims, Rise of Industry 2 looks like it'll be one to check out. The game is due to launch on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No release date has been revealed yet.
