After its announcement at the Summer Games Fest, Ubisoft showed off more of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown gameplay and story. The game has you taking on the role of Sargon of the Immortals seeking the missing Prince in Mont Qaf where you are divided from your allies.
In the gameplay narrated by game director Mounir Radi during the event, we learn that this title is a metroidvania, or as they put it, a "semi-open world that delivers new secrets as you find new powers". Time powers are back in the game, and it is in both yours and some foes' hands as well as influencing the setting by causing the past to co-exist with the future and presence.
You will need to explore, and make use of a variety of skills, including combining them together. There are others who are trapped in Mount Qaf, some who are friends, and others who are foes.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown releases January 18, 2024 on all current major platforms (PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Amazon Luna, and probably some system they forgot the logo of.)
