Today the latest Pokémon Sun and Moon information reveal trailer was released on YouTube. The video officially showed off the final evolutions of the starter Pokémon for the games, as well as more on how the Pokémon league in the Alolan region will work.
In the video, the final evolution for Rowlet, Litten, and Poplio was shown. They aren't much of a surprise though since people were able to get into the code of the Sun and Moon demo that recently released and find the entire Pokédex. We did get more info on their typing and moves though, thankfully. Decidueye is Rowlet's final evolution and is Grass and Ghost type with the signature move Spirit Shackle that prevents enemy Pokémon from switching out. Litten's final evolution is Incineroar a Fire and Dark with the signature move Darkest Lariat that ignores enemies stat changes, and finally Poplio's final evolution is Primarina a Water and Fairy with the signature move Sparkling Aria that heals the burns of the Pokémon it hits.
Also officially revealed in the new video were the Guardians of Alola Pokémon. Akala Island's guardian is Tapu Lele a psychic and fairy type, Ula'ula Island's guardian is Tapu Bulu a grass and fairy type, and Poni Island's guardian is Tapu Fini a water and fairy type. Each of the guardians has a special "Surge" ability that corresponds to their non-fairy type that changes the battlefield around them. They all also have a z-move called Guardian of Alola which brings forth a giant energy body that the Pokémon put themselves on top of as the head and then attack. The video also showed off the alolan form of Persian (gray garfield) and Cosmog a psychic type that looks like it has something to do with both games cover legendaries.
Now in more substantial news, the video revealed that in the games you will be able to witness the beginning of the Alolan Pokémon League. This starts to answer our questions that arose when it was shown that instead of gym battles there would be trials. On Mount Lanakila you'll be able to find work being done on creating the league. The Battle Tree is where you'll be able to take on and fight along side "other famous trainers" such as Cynthia from Diamond and Pearl.
The biggest reveal though would have to be the fact that you will be able to battle against Red and Blue from the original games. Blue is talkative as usual and, as he notes, Red is "as silent as ever". The welcome you as a fellow champion so it's safe to assume they will be endgame opponents at very high levels, so if you want to stand a chance you'll need to come prepared.
Pokémon Sun and Moon release November 18 on the Nintendo 3DS.
