Since it first became available earlier this month, Pokemon Go has exploded with immense popularity. First being released in the United States, Australia, and New Zealand, it has slowly been expanded to other countries. Now it has been announced that Pokemon Go has been made available in 27 more nations.

In a post on the official facebook page for Pokemon Go the new countries that the game has been made available in are as follows. Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland. Then is a post a few hours later it was announced the game is also available in Canada.

With this announcement it seems they are continuing with a Europe expansion although there is still some big countries missing from the area, places like France still are not able to play the game. It is worth noting that there is still no countries in Asia that Pokemon Go has been released yet and it seems they are focusing on getting the game out in Europe and North America before moving on.

This staggered release might be a strategy for combating the huge server load that the game has been facing that has been causing a myriad of issues for players, including those who plan on sideloading the game on android. Fans eager to play the game have been voicing their opinions online. When a game has become as popular as Pokemon Go, it is frustrating for people who have to wait for their country to be the next one announced.

The good news is, that it is being released relatively quickly and sometimes in a big bulk of lots of countries, and even though the game is not out in Asia yet, because it is one of Nintendo's biggest markets it would seem plausible that they would want to release it there as soon as they can.
