Namco Museum was announced during a Nintendo Direct featuring many games from the Japanese developer’s repertoire of arcade titles throughout history. The line-up originally announced for Namco Museum includes Dig-Dug, Galaga, Galaga ‘88, Pac-Man, Rolling Thunder, Rolling Thunder 2, SpyKid, Splatterhouse, Tank Force and The Tower of Druaga. Now Pac-Man Vs. has been added to the roster.
Pac-Man Vs. was released for GameCube in 2003 designed around the Game Boy ADvance link cable. Later it was re-worked for Nintendo DS as part of the Namco Museum DS collection in 2007. Designed by Shigeru Miyamoto and developed by Nintendo, the game features asymmetric gameplay in which one player controls Pac-Man and others control the ghosts. As Pac-Man attempts to devour all the pellets in the maze the ghosts endeavor to catch him.
The collection of retro arcade games will include an online ranking system with a worldwide leader board. It will also include a challenge mode for each game giving players different things to strive for while playing the games. On the Switch you will be able to play either vertically or horizontally and it will accommodate two players. The modern console also allows for pausing and resuming the game whenever you like.
Namco Museum will release as a digital download for the Nintendo Switch sometime this summer. An official release date has not been announced. See more screenshots of the game and learn more at Nintendo’s website here.
