Japanese games developer NAMCO is releasing a collection of arcade games to the Nintendo Switch at some point this summer called NAMCO Museum. This collection was announced during a recent Nintendo Direct and includes a variety of games from the golden age of arcade games. Here’s a list of all the games in the bundle:

  • Pac-Man
  • Dig Dug
  • Galaga
  • Galaga ’88
  • The Tower of Druaga
  • Rolling Thunder
  • Rolling Thunder 2
  • SkyKid
  • Splatterhouse
  • Tank Force

All the usual suspects are here including Pac-Man Dig Dug and two versions of the NAMCO/Midway classic Galaga. This collection also includes some lesser-known games from the Japanese game developer and publisher.

These games coming to Nintendo newest console means that you’ll get some added features that take advantage of a more modern system. These features include being able to pause the game whenever you want, test your skill with Challenge Modes available for every game in the bundle, and online leaderboards where you can contrast, compare and beat other players’ scores. You can also choose to play games horizontally or vertically depending on what you prefer. NAMCO Museum also supports local couch co-op with 2 players.

As of writing this, neither Namco nor Nintendo have announced a specific release date for Namco Museum. All we know right now is that the collection is scheduled to release at some point this summer, so you don’t have to wait for too long to get your hands on some retro games. We do know the price of the collection: $29.99. For all the info, you can check out the store page for the game on Nintendo’s website.

Quick Take

A new generation of gamers take up the hobby every year, and this is a great chance to show the newer generations what many people consider to be the Golden Age of Gaming.

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk, and I never really stopped playing them. When I'm not fulfilling my duties as senior staff writer and tech reviewer, I'm either working on music, producing one of two podcasts or doing freelance work.
