Today Blizzard Entertainment announced relevant changes coming to Overwatch 2 in future seasons, including how heroes and mythic skins are unlocked.

First of all, the announcement explains that starting with Season 10 heroes will not be locked behind the battle pass. All of them will be available as soon as they launch to play in all modes.

This will include the recently revealed new hero, Venture, who will be unlocked for everyone as soon as Season 10 starts.

The only caveat to this is that new players will still need to complete the first-time user experience to unlock the original heroes. As soon as that's done, all heroes will be unlocked.

The way you acquire and upgrade Mythic skins is also going to change considerably. The new Mythic Shop is going to be introduced with Season 10.

By going through the Premium Battle pass you'll be able to unlock Mythic Skins from current and previous seasons and go as far into their upgrading as you wish, so you can decide to spread your progression among multiple skins if you're not interested in focusing all on one to unlock all of its colors or models.

With Season 10 you'll earn coins while progressing through the free and premium tracks of the Battle Pass, and the number of coins you can earn will be increased from 540 to 600 per season. Weekly challenges will also provide Battle Pass XP.

Blizzard also wants to keep the game fresh by "consistently introducing new or updated systems, shaking up the meta, implementing rank resets, and introducing new rewards." The developer hopes to receive feedback from the playerbase on how often this will happen.

At the start of Season 10 players will be able to enjoy the new Hanaoka Map with the new Clash mode. Season 11 will bring the new Push map Runasapi in Peru and a reworked Colosseo. blizzard is also working on "significant updates" for Dorado, Circuit Royale, Havana, and Numbani.

Overwatch 2 is available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S Xbox One, and PC. If you'd like to know more, you can take a look at the recently introduced hero Mauga.
