Who Gets One Next?

Nintendo has announced that they will be working with indie devs who will be creating levels for Super Mario Maker 2. In fact, the first two of these levels are already available.

The first level was made by Playtonic Games, the developers of Yooka-Laylee and its sequel Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. The level is jokingly named "The Impossible Layer" since The Impossible Lair has just released anyway. It features a stage that seems to have two versions, with Mario alternating between a day and night version depending on the pipes he goes through. Despite the name including the word "impossible", Nintendo themselves have only rated the course as a medium difficulty one. The level code for it is XHK-NB8-11H, in case you want to give it a go.

The second level was created by Brace Yourself Games, developers of Crypt of the NecroDancer and Nintendo-based follow up Cadence of Hyrule. This stage, named "Cadence of Mario???", seems to be built around blocks that consistently appear and vanish, meaning you need some rhythm in how you move. This seems rather fitting for developers of a rhythm-based dungeon crawler. It also means this is a more difficult challenge than Playtonic Games' course. Nintendo went ahead and gave Cadence of Mario??? a hard rating. If you're still interested in giving it a shot anyway, the level code for it is HFH-D53-60G.

Super Mario Maker 2 is currently available exclusively on Nintendo Switch. You can read our review of it here.

Are you going to give these two stages a shot? Got any developers you're hoping will make a stage? Have a stage that you made and want to share it with the world? Well, we're not the world, but feel free to share the stage, and your thoughts, in the comments below.
