Today, Nintendo held a brand new Indie World showcase, where we got to see some new information about upcoming Switch indie games for 2024. Here's everything that was announced during said showcase.

Sadly, there was no mention of the long-awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong as we predicted yesterday, but there's still plenty to look forward to anyway. Let's get stuck in!

Little Kitty, Big City launches on May 9th

Little Kitty, Big City, an adorable-looking exploration game starring the world's cutest black cat (along with all the others), officially launches on May 9th. Hooray!

WayForward and Atari announce Yars Rising

Together with Atari, WayForward has announced Yars Rising, a sidescrolling platformer that will launch on Nintendo Switch later this year. It looks like cyberpunk Shantae, which makes sense given its pedigree.

Refind Self: The Personality Test Game hits all the feels in summer

Embark on a "journey of self-discovery" in the exploration adventure Refind Self: The Personality Test Game, in which you play an android created by a doctor who's passed away. You'll end up with one of 23 personality archetypes at the end, and you can even see other players' archetypes!

This one is launching in summer for Switch.

Sticky Business lets you run a sticker shop

If you're a creative type, Sticky Business is the game for you. It'll let you run your own sticker shop, creating stickers and shipping them to customers according to requests.

It's launching later today on Switch, alongside DLC that adds some extra content!

Antonblast is one for Pizza Tower enthusiasts

The main character running along a rope in Antonblast, which was shown off in the Nintendo Indie World April 2024 showcase
Pizza Tower lovers, apply here.

Did you love Pizza Tower, but feel like it was over too soon? If so, you'll want to check out Antonblast, which looks like it's drawing inspiration from the same Wario Land well as Pizza Tower. It's hitting Switch on November 12th as a timed console exclusive.

Valley Peaks should appeal to A Short Hike fans

Imagine A Short Hike, but it's in first-person and you're, uh, a frog. That's pretty much the pitch for Valley Peaks, an open-ended hiking and exploration sim that launches on Switch sometime later this year.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes looks deeply weird

From the developers of Year Walk and Device 6 comes Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, a very moody and stylish-looking black-and-white puzzler that's sure to have you scratching your head. This one hits Switch on May 16th.

Europa has beautiful Studio Ghibli vibes

Have you ever wanted to jump into the worlds of Studio Ghibli movies and just explore them? Europa looks like it'll let you do just that, and it's coming to Switch this year. A demo will be available today if you want to try it out.

TMNT Splintered Fate brings roguelike action to the Turtles' world

Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael return in TMNT Splintered Fate, a top-down roguelike action game that sees you battling Shredder's nefarious Foot Clan. This one supports co-op play and is heading to Switch this July.

Cat Quest 3 brings more feline shenanigans

If you've played the first two Cat Quest games, you'll likely know what to expect from this third installment, but this time around, there's a decidedly more pirate-y theme. You can check this one out on August 8th on Switch, and a demo is coming today.

Stitch is a warm and cozy puzzler about knitting

Made with a husband-and-wife creative team at its heart, Stitch is a cozy-looking puzzler that's all about embroidery. It's coming out later today as a Switch console exclusive.

Sizzle reel shows off some Nindies

Next up, we get a sizzle reel featuring some of the Switch indies heading your way this year. Here's what was shown during that sizzle reel!

  • Bzzzt - summer 2024
  • SCHiM - July 18th, 2024
  • Animal Well - May 9th, 2024
  • Duck Detective: The Secret Salami - May 23rd, 2024
  • Another Crab's Treasure - April 25th, 2024

SteamWorld Heist 2 brings back tactical ricochet action in August

A combat scene in SteamWorld Heist 2, which was announced during the Nintendo Indie World showcase in April 2024
SteamWorld Heist is coming back!

Last but not least, we got an announcement for a brand new SteamWorld game in the form of SteamWorld Heist 2.

It'll bring back the tactical combat and ricochet-based gameplay of the first title, but there's now a full world map to explore, as well as new character classes, abilities, and weapons to unlock.

You'll be able to play this one on August 8th, so it should make a pretty solid double-bill with Cat Quest 3, since both of them revolve around the sea.

That's all you're getting for this month's Indie World showcase! You can watch the full presentation below.
