What's the one thing missing from most theme park management sims? If you answered "a villain you love to hate", then you'll appreciate the new Park Beyond trailer, which shows off your slimy rival Giles Hemlock and his underhanded business strategies. You'll have to duke it out with Hemlock on the management battlefield if you want your park to succeed.

In the trailer, Hemlock, a businessman with a tailored suit and a slick haircut, stands on stage and delivers a rather on-the-nose lecture in which he advocates lying to competitors, sabotaging them, and buying them out. As Hemlock himself says, "don't be afraid to play dirty". You can check the trailer out below, and don't worry; if you already hate Hemlock, he gets his comeuppance at the end of this trailer, let alone the game.

As the trailer suggests, you'll need to keep your park's customers happy with well-designed rides, lots of food and drink stalls, and other conveniences if you want to keep them away from Hemlock. It's not entirely clear how Hemlock intends to sabotage your park yet, but the trailer does show him "infiltrating" the park, popping up in bushes and taking his place among other customers. Bandai Namco is promising that Hemlock will use "aggressive methods and dirty tricks" to try and take your park down, so you'll have to be on your toes.

Park Beyond is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S sometime in 2023. We don't have a concrete release date for the game just yet, unfortunately. It's not the only theme park game on the horizon, either; last year, we learned that the RollerCoaster Tycoon license has been extended, so more games in that franchise are on the way too. Of course, if they're anything like more recent RollerCoaster Tycoon games, you're probably better off sticking to Park Beyond. Stay tuned to TechRaptor for more news on this one.
