A new Jagged Alliance 3 trailer is here ahead of the game's July launch, and this one's all about the big picture, or perhaps I should say the "Wider Picture" (since that's the trailer's name). The trailer is all about macro; rather than individual grenade throws or shot chances, this one zeroes in on militia training, management, and more.

Jagged Alliance 3 will put you in control of your battlefield forces, their equipment, and their combat readiness. You'll be responsible for training mercs, but you'll also be training militia across the game's strategic map, ensuring that they're healed up and that their equipment is well-maintained.

Of course, like anything else, running a campaign in Jagged Alliance 3 also requires money (of the in-game sort, not the real sort). This means you'll have to strike out at key financial targets to bring in that all-important funding; you'll hit diamond transports, for instance, or take over mines so that you can profit from their operation. It's all part of what developer Haemimont Games and publisher THQ Nordic call a "dynamic open-world campaign".

Jagged Alliance 3 is, as you might expect, the third core installment in the long-running Jagged Alliance franchise. Originally unveiled in 2021, the game will enjoy the creative oversight of original Jagged Alliance creator Ian Currie and will send you to the resource-rich nation of Grand Chien in order to find its President and restore order. To do so, you'll have to hire mercenaries, explore the island extensively, and engage in tactical combat.

You'll be able to get your hands on Jagged Alliance 3 when it launches on PC on July 14th. No release for other platforms is currently planned. If you're a Jagged Alliance aficionado, you could also look into the Tactical Edition of the game, which comes with a bunch of fun extras that should serve as good reminders of your time in Grand Chien.
