NACON, a French video game company and owner of the RIG gaming accessory brand, has announced a collaboration with The University Network to create a scholarship. The RIG Future Academy scholarship offers $20,000 for students across the United States.

In a press release sent out today, NACON announced that their newly-created scholarship will offer four winning students a $5,000 scholarship for the 2021-2022 college year. Meanwhile, five runner-ups will receive a GEAR UP college pack of goodies made by RIG. To qualify, students have to write a 300-word essay or record a 1-2 minute video describing how gaming has helped them in academics. Jack Reynolds, the President of NACON Gaming Inc., said that NACON and the RIG brand are proud to support students and their academic efforts. "The RIG Future Academy scholarship embraces our core values. RIG empowers players to improve gaming performance and now supports their academic advancements as well. Gaming is sports and to win, you have to play, practice, and study hard," Reynolds said.

Peter Corrigan, CEO of The University Network, also spoke about the RIG Future Academy scholarship, saying that it aligns perfectly with their company's mission statement. "The University Network was created to help students successfully navigate their college careers by providing help and advice. We help students find the scholarships that are right for them - which is why we're thrilled to be teaming up with NACON to offer the RIG Future Academy scholarship," Corrigan said.
