Today Capcom had two juicy announcements to share about the Monster Hunter Stories series of JRPG, which is becoming even more multiplatform.
Following the announcement at the latest Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase of the upcoming release of the original Monster Hunter Stories for PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch, we get its release date.
The game is coming to all three platforms on June 14, 2024. It'll even include new features.
Specifically, fans can expect full Japanese and English voiceovers, 7 new languages for subtitles, a new Museum Mode including 200 pieces of concept art, background music, and developer sketches, on top of updates that were originally released only in Japan.
Below you can check out a trailer.
Yet that is not all, as gamers on PlayStation are getting a double treat. Today we also get the announcement that the game's sequel, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, is also coming to PS4 on the same date as the first game, June 14.
The game was previously released for Nintendo Switch and PC, so all three platforms will have the entire sub-series come June. You can take a look at a dedicated trailer below.
If you're curious about the game, you can read our original review of the Nintendo Switch version, which awarded it with an 8 out of 10.
We also hear that pre-orders will be available soon for both games, offering bonuses like the Navirou’s King and Queen outfits for Monster Hunter Stories, and Ena’s Kamura Maiden outfit for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.
Incidentally, this isn't the last Monster Hunter news you're getting in the span of a few hours as tomorrow Capcom is hosting a special 20th-anniversary livestream tomorrow morning, which is likely to come with some juicy reveals as well.
Perhaps, we'll hear more about the upcoming mainline game Monster Hunter Wilds, which is coming in 2025 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
