Xbox Showcase Starfield Direct

The Xbox Game Showcase is coming in a week, followed by its Starfield Direct attachment, and Microsoft VP of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg took to Twitter to share some information on what you can expect.

Greenberg confirmed that the combined duration will be "roughly two hours" and mentioned that there won't be full CGI trailers from first-party studios.

None of our first party games in the show are full CG trailers. Everything is either in-game footage, in-engine footage, or in-game footage with some cinematics. Each of our trailers will be labeled so it is hopefully clear for our fans.

We also hear that this time around, it'll be all entirely about games. There won't be any movie or TV series trailer within the game show. There won't be a 12-month limit on release for the game showcased, so we may see titles coming further in the future.

Lastly, Greenberg encouraged fans to simply come in open-minded and enjoy the ride.

No plans to tease, temper, or spoil anything. Love seeing all the wild expectations, my advice is to just come in open minded & enjoy the ride. Appreciate the years of hard work so many teams have put their heart & soul into this for you all.

The Xbox Game Showcase will be aired by Microsoft on June 11, 2023, at 10:00 am PDT, 1:00 pm EDT, 6:00 pm BST, or 7:00 pm CEST depending on where you live. If you're in similar timezones as Japan or Australia, it'll already be June 12, respectively at 4:00 am JST or 5:00 am AEST.

The main showcase will be immediately followed by the Starfield Direct in which Microsoft and Bethesda will provide an in-depth look at the highly anticipated sci-fi RPG Starfield, which is releasing on September 6, 2023, for Xbox Series X|S and PC
