Today Bethesda and Microsoft finally announced the release date of the upcoming sci-fi RPG Starfield.Â
The game will release on September 6, 2023, for Xbox Series X|S and PC. Of course, it'll also be on Xbox Game Pass.Â
The announcement was accompanied by the announcement that a "Starfield Direct" broadcast will come on June 11, 2023, to provide a deep dive into the game.
Director Todd Howard promises "so much" that still has to be shown, mentioning that Starfield has many of the hallmarks that we can expect from a Bethesda RPG, but it's also a "very unique experience. "
The veteran developer also thanked the fans for their support and enthusiasm about the game, stating that the developers read all the comments they can find. They know we have waited a long time to play something new from the studio, and they feel the same way. They miss releasing a new game and can't wait for us all to play Starfield.Â

Starfield was originally teased all the way back in 2018. It was supposed to release in November 2022, but it was then delayed to the first half of 2023. Now, we finally know when it's coming.Â
