With the Matrix 4 right around the corner, it makes sense that any accompanying media is coming out soon too. That's why The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience will be going live this week on the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 at the TGAs. Last year's TGAs announced a decent amount of stuff, so this year's TGAs should also have a decent amount of things to talk about.
The Matrix Awakens is going to be one of those things, especially as it looks like it's going to be a showcase for the Unreal Engine 5. The fifth Unreal Engine has a unique premise in that it looks almost fantastical in how good it looks but it also somehow doesn't seem like an impossible reach.
Speaking of an impossible reach, check out Keanu's acting below:
So what's in The Matrix Awakens? Well, there isn't much to talk about so far. Both the Xbox and PlayStation pages talk about how this is a "boundary-pushing cinematic and real-time tech demo", which if anything else is to be expected from a piece of media accompanying a Matrix film. You can also expect to see Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anna Moss in this tech demo, and with members of the original movie team (which includes Lana Wachowski along with Epic Games and others) this should look very pretty at least. I mean, it's a tech demo, right? That's the bare minimum, but we've all been disappointed with The Matrix since 1998 so who knows.
The 2021 VGA's will be streaming on December 9, 2021, which is this Thursday so we won't have to wait too long to find out what's happening with The Matrix Awakens along with a bunch of other franchises. Stay tuned to TechRaptor for more information.
