Nintendo has announced the release date for the upcoming Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 5, which will once again add new tracks and characters to the game. The DLC lands on July 12th, which is less than a week away at time of writing, so get ready to start those engines once again.

Previous Booster Course Pass waves have added iconic courses like Mario Kart Wii's DK Summit and Mario Kart DS' Peach Gardens, and it's almost time for eight brand new courses to be added to the game. Like the last wave, this wave is also adding a completely new course that hasn't appeared in the series before, and this time, you're racing around a giant bathroom (or perhaps you've been miniaturized).

Here's a full list of all the courses being added as part of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass DLC's fifth wave.

  • Koopa Cape (Mario Kart Wii)
  • Los Angeles Laps (Mario Kart Tour)
  • Moonview Highway (Mario Kart Wii)
  • Squeaky Clean Sprint (new course)
  • Athens Dash (Mario Kart Tour)
  • Daisy Cruiser (Mario Kart: Double Dash!!)
  • Sunset Wilds (Mario Kart: Super Circuit)
  • Vancouver Velocity (Mario Kart Tour)

These eight courses aren't all you're getting, of course. Three new characters are also making their way to Mario Kart Tour in this DLC: Petey Piranha, Kamek, and Wiggler. All three of these characters have appeared in previous Mario Kart games, but this is their debut in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, so make 'em feel welcome.

As ever, you can get the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass at no additional cost if you're a member of Nintendo Switch Online and you've got the Expansion Pack addon. Otherwise, the full pass is available to buy from the Nintendo eShop for $24.99. One more wave, consisting of eight more tracks, is set to launch sometime before 2023 is over, so stay tuned for more news on that.
