In Moviehouse, players will be able to manage their own movie studio by hiring talent, writing scripts, and shooting movies. Developed by Odyssey Studios and published by Assemble Entertainment, Moviehouse will have players take on a "leading role" behind the scenes of a budding Hollywood-inspired production house from the 1980s to the modern-day.
“Our team is delighted to bring our very first title to life,” said Niklāvs Strads, founder of Odyssey Studios. “We set out to capture the excitement of what goes on both in front of the camera and behind the scenes. Beyond all the glitz and glamour, it takes an entire crew of talented writers, producers, and directors to really bring a movie to life, and Moviehouse captures all of that!”
From the start, players will see their team and equipment improve. Their studio will start off with a small amateur cast and rudimentary equipment, but that will change as the studio will mature and hone their skills as new technology is brought in. Eventually, players will be able to compete for industry awards for their films, including best feature film and the coveted golden clapper. To do this, players will have to go to film festivals to build buzz.
However, in order to win, players will need the best of the best. This will involve hiring directors and writers and nurturing their creative prowess while also building a good crew. This team will make spy flicks, romantic comedies, slashers, or anything that the player wants. Players will be able to create movie magic in Autumn 2022 when Moviehouse is released on Steam and GOG. If you want to try it now, there's a demo available during Steam Next Fest to play.
