A new Lords of the Fallen Q&A has revealed a number of key facts about the game, including how long it should take to finish, whether there will be difficulty options, and more.
The FAQ can be seen on the game's official Steam page, and it kicks off with a question many of us want to know about games these days: how long will Lords of the Fallen take to finish?
According to Hexworks, the Soulslike should take around 35 to 40 hours for "experienced Soulslike players", but those with less genre experience or those aiming for 100% completion will likely take longer.
Another big question is just how difficult Lords of the Fallen's hack-and-slash combat will prove to be.
While Hexworks won't be drawn on a specific number between 1 and 10 for the game's difficulty, the studio says Lords of the Fallen is intended to be "a challenging experience", and that finishing it should give you bragging rights.
With that said, options like "grind[ing] a few levels" to get stronger for difficult encounters, as well as co-op play, should alleviate the difficulty somewhat if you're struggling.
On consoles, you'll be pleased to know Lords of the Fallen will feature both a Quality and a Performance mode, and that the Performance mode will target 60fps.
Crossplay will be supported, but only between PC and each individual console ecosystem, not between the consoles themselves.
If you've been hoping for a Lords of the Fallen demo, it looks like you're out of luck, too. The developers say a demo would "require diverting resources from the main game", and so a demo won't be available.
In addition, the controversial and much-discussed topic of difficulty settings is settled definitively for Lords of the Fallen in this Q&A: it doesn't have any. Hexworks says this approach is "true to the genre".
Lords of the Fallen launches for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 13th. You can check out our very own Robert Scarpinito's preview of the game to find out whether it's one you should keep your eye on.
