NIS America has unveiled The Legend of Legacy HD Remastered, a revamped version of the 2015 cult 3DS JRPG.

The Legend of Legacy was developed by Cattle Call, the same studio behind 2018's The Alliance Alive, which also received an HD remaster not too long ago.

It revolves around a cast of seven heroes, each of whom must explore the mythical island of Avalon, which has "awoken from its eternal slumber", to uncover its secrets.

This remastered version will feature improved visuals and performance, and will also adapt the 3DS control scheme to modern systems.

You can check out a trailer for The Legend of Legacy HD Remastered, which provides a quick overview of the game and some of its playable characters, right here.

You might know a couple of the names involved with The Legend of Legacy; it boasts artwork from SaGa artist Tomomi Kobayashi, as well as music from Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy VII Remake composer Masashi Hamauzu.

Writing duties for the game were handled by Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy XI writer Masato Kato, so there's a real JRPG pedigree behind The Legend of Legacy.

Combat-wise, the game is turn-based, with a rather novel approach to classic RPG concepts like leveling up and which weapons your party uses.

Exploration in The Legend of Legacy is also rather intriguing, with the map filling in as you explore it rather than being available right from the get-go.

In short, if you're a fan of classic JRPGs and you missed this one the first time it came around on 3DS, you'll definitely want to take a look at The Legend of Legacy HD Remastered.

You'll be able to do so when it launches for PC, PlayStation consoles, and Nintendo Switch sometime in early 2024. Stay tuned for more.
