Today Bandai Namco revealed that its fighting game JoJo's Bizarre Adventure All-Star Battle R is getting a second season pass with new characters.
The season pass will include three characters and the first to be released is Leone Abbacchio. He will launch on September 1 with early access for those who purchase the season pass on August 3.
The season pass will also include a second bonus in the form of a Haruno Shiobana costume for Giovanna Giorno. It follows the first which included the likes of Rudol von Stroheim, Keicho Nijimura, and Alternate World Diego.
Leone Abbacchio figures prominently in the Vento Aureo arc, and continues the time-tested tradition of funny names created by Hirohiko Araki. "Leone" in Italian means "Lion" and "Abbacchio" is a lamb-based dish. That's quite the contrast.
You can watch the new character in action in the trailer below..
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R is currently available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
If you're unfamiliar with this fighting game, it's a remaster with lots of additional content of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle, which originally launched for PlayStation 3 in 2013 in Japan and in 2014 in North America and Europe
As you may probably have already guessed, it's the latest adaptation of the ultra-popular manga JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure by Hirohiko Araki, which first appeared in Weekly Shounen Jump in 1987. It has since sparked the release of a popular anime series, OVA, movies, spin-offs, and video games.
The game includes plenty of characters from many of the story arcs of the manga/anime, from the oldest to some of the newest, including the recently-aired Stone Ocean.
