Developer Arrowhead Game Studios and publisher Sony have announced a brand new Helldivers 2 Warbond, and it's arriving next week.

Cutting Edge is packed with "high-voltage vibes", according to an announcement post on the PlayStation Blog, and it packs in new armor, new weapons, and more. It's coming on March 14th.

First up, you're getting a new laser rifle that fires in short bursts. The LAS-16 Sickle doesn't need to be reloaded, but you will need to watch to make sure it doesn't overheat (or alternately, as Arrowhead says, just "shove a new heatsink in there").

Helldivers 2's Cutting Edge Warbond will bring some sweet new weapons to blast those bugs with.

The next new weapon to be added in the Cutting Edge Warbond is the SG-8P Punisher Plasma, a modified version of the Punisher shotgun that fires exploding plasma rounds.

Lastly, the ARC-12 Blitzer projects "an arc of close-range lightning", but you can also charge it up to fire bolts. This weapon is ideal for taking down groups of enemies, according to Arrowhead.

You'll also get the chance to unlock the G-23 stun grenade and the LAS-7 Dagger pistol, giving you some additional options in combat.

Of course, it's not just weapons. You're also getting three new sets of armor, referred to as "the EX Series Prototypes", granting an additional layer of protection against your insectoid opponents.

As well as all of the useful stuff mentioned above, the Cutting Edge Helldivers 2 Warbond also brings new capes to help you accessorize while you're slaying insect hordes, as well as new emotes to help you communicate with your fellow Super Earth Armed Forces soldiers.

If you've somehow missed out on the Helldivers 2 hype, it's a multiplayer third-person shooter in which you team up with other players to slaughter hordes of enemies and complete various objectives across a persistent online campaign.

The game has proven immensely popular, although that popularity has resulted in server issues that developer Arrowhead has had to scramble to fix. The pitfalls of fame, eh?

Helldivers 2 is out right now for PC and PlayStation 5. If you're on the fence about joining the Super Earth Armed Forces, you can check out our review of the game here. Already enlisted?
