Helldivers 2 Developer Arrowhead Shows Off Adorable Gift from Alan Wake 2 Studio Remedy

Helldivers 2 studio Arrowhead has received a rather nifty gift from Alan Wake 2's Remedy Entertainment, and it's a reminder that not everything in the industry is glum right now.

Amidst the current industry doom and gloom, it's sometimes nice to see two studios just getting along with one another, and that's exactly what Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead and Alan Wake 2 studio Remedy seem to be doing.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Arrowhead shows off a gift it received from Remedy in the form of an Oh Deer Diner-branded flask and a manuscript page from none other than tortured author Alan Wake himself.

The flask has exactly the same styling as its counterpart from Remedy's successful horror game, and the manuscript page is written in Wake's distinctive style as well.

Aww.

Here's the full text of the Alan Wake 2 manuscript page gifted to Arrowhead.

I had heard of them before. Helldivers.

Defenders of freedom across the galaxy. Harbingers of divine justice, like a blade of pure light shining bright in a world of darkness.

Or so they told themselves.

Their righteous crusade had spread like wildfire, gained thousands, millions of followers. But to the followers it was more simple than that. Players in a game, looking to have fun.

It was awe inspiring, impressive, what the Helldivers had achieved. Even in the Dark Place, such a feat would require a paralyzing amount of planning and masterful skill.

Congratulations were in order.

May Managed Democracy spread across the galaxy.

The page even features a coffee stain and Alan Wake's signature, which is a neat little touch. What's more, the flask's box appears to be signed by Remedy staffers. Naturally, Arrowhead thanks Remedy for its gift in the post. Doesn't it just make you feel warm and fuzzy?

If you're unfamiliar with either game (or, indeed, both of them), Helldivers 2 is a phenomenally successful multiplayer-focused third-person shooter in which you play as the soldiers of Super Earth, fighting to spread "Managed Democracy" across the galaxy.

Arrowhead has enjoyed phenomenal success with Helldivers 2.

The game, which adopts a (not exactly subtle) satirical tone, has proven a smash hit with players. At its peak, Helldivers 2 surpassed 450,000 concurrent players on Steam, and at time of writing, its 24-hour total still sits at almost 269,000.

Alan Wake 2, meanwhile, is Remedy's latest game. Set in the studio's shared universe (which also includes Control), Alan Wake 2 sees FBI agent Saga Anderson trying to track Wake down while he attempts to escape from imprisonment in an alternate dimension.

Helldivers 2 is available right now on PC and PlayStation 5, while Alan Wake 2 is up for grabs on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
