.hack//G.U. Last Recode, the HD remaster collection of the .hack//G.U. trilogy that was recently announced, won't just come with a slew of gameplay changes when it releases later this year - it'll be turning the .hack//G.U. trilogy into a tetralogy. The information comes straight from the Weekly Famitsu over in Japan, where it was revealed that the collection would feature .hack//G.U. Vol. 4 あるいは世界を紡ぐ蛇たちの見る夢 - translated as Or Dreams of Snakes that Connect the World, though Bandai Namco has yet to reveal the official English subtitle.
For anyone not familiar with the .hack// series, both .hack// (the original series), as well as .hack//G.U., were split into "volumes", with each volume acting as their own game, while still being a separate chapter in each arc's storyline. While there are currently no details regarding just how long this new volume will be, just the addition of it increases the value of the overall package significantly - for obvious reasons. Not only is .hack//G.U. Last Recode an HD remaster of the .hack//G.U. trilogy, but now it's also the next entirely new title in the .hack// franchise as well.
.hack//G.U. Last Recode releases November 1st of this year in Japan and will come to the west at a currently undisclosed date later this year. The title will be available on both PlayStation 4 as well as Steam.
