Today Sony Interactive Entertainment and Santa Monica Studio have released a relevant update for the super-popular action-adventure game God of War: Ragnarok.
The centerpiece of the update is certainly the New Game Plus, which lets you restart the game after you finish it while retaining your equipment, weapons (excluding Sonic and Hex arrows), and skills. Endgame bosses have "a few switch-ups" to refresh their challenge in NG+.
We're also getting new equipment in the form of the Armor of the Black Bear, the Spartan Armor, the Ares Armor, and the Zeus Armor, on top of the Spartan Aspis shield. In addition to that, 13 existing armor sets received new color combinations.
A new level cap lets you convert level 9 equipment to "Plus" versions with additional levels of progression.
You can now use gilded coins to add enchantments to amulets including Berserker Soul Drops to give you big boosts to stats, Burdens that lets you equip negative perks to add more challenge to the game, and engravings/badges that reproduce perks from armor and shield ronds.
New progression paths have been implemented as follows:
New Skill Mod Plus
Upgrade your existing Skill Mod tokens using XP to further enhance the effects of your favorite Mods.
Platinum Tier Labors
Carry over any progress from your Kill Labors or Ratatasks and continue to unlock a new Platinum Tier of rewards.
Additional Stat Gains
Nornir Chests will now provide Yggdrasil Dew to allow players to push Stats far beyond their previous limits.
The Sparring Arena in Niflheim has been expanded letting you fight as Kratos or Atreus alongside Atreus himself (if you're playing as Kratos), Freya, Brok, Sindri, Angrboda, Ingrid, Thor, and Thrúd.
