It's December, so you know what that means everyone? Yes, the Holidays, but also the annual awards show for the game industry, the plainly titled The Game Awards 2020. But rather than wait for the show proper, The Game Awards tends to sneak out announcements and surprises in the pre-show, which is where we have you covered.

The Game Awards 2020's Best Score/Music Winner

The remake of of the 1997 iconic classic returned this year, and thanks to the strides in modern music production, the fantastic score for Final Fantasy VII Remake took the award for Best Musical Score this year.

Devolver Digital Announces Loop Hero As Best Game of 2021

In classic Devolver Digital fashion, the delightfully deranged Maria Zook took the stage to cheekily announce a brand new video game called Loop Hero, then dubbing it the Best Game of 2021. The trailer shows off an interesting adventure revolving around time loops, hence the title. Loop Hero is slated for a 2021 release.

Tchia, A Brand New Island Adventure Game Is Announced

Some new blood was shown off with the announcement trailer for Tchia by Awecabe. The trailer shows a colorful and joyous adventure where you explore an island and uncover its mysteries. It appears to be inspired by New Macdeonia and looks like a stellar first impression by this new studio. It is slated for a 2021 release.

 

The Game Awards 2020's Best Action/Adventure Game Winner

Naughty Dog's extremely miserable yet achingly human zombie action game, The Last of Us Part 2 was announced the winner for Best Action/Adventure title this year. Enjoy the win, everyone at Naughty Dog.

Sea of Solitude: Director's Cut Announced for Nintendo Switch

The developers of the narrative indie game, Sea of Solitude announced a Director's Cut of the game for the Nintendo Switch. This is the definitive version of the game with brand new content, all of it now available on Nintendo's handheld console.

Shady Part of Me For Nintendo Switch

Indie game, titled Shady Part of Me was shown off, and officially picked up a publisher with Focus Home Interactive. Better still, the game is now available on Nintendo Switch.

Century: Age of Ashes Premieres with Dragon Fighting Multiplayer

Finally, the pre-show concluded with a trailer for a nasty dragon vs. dragon action title. The really long name of the game is Century: Age of Ashes. It'll be available on February 2021 and you can register for the beta on Steam right now.
