Rockstar has officially announced that the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming next month.
As part of a thread on X (formerly Twitter) celebrating Rockstar's 25th anniversary, president Sam Houser confirmed that the first trailer for "the next Grand Theft Auto" will be shown in "early December".
Naturally, we didn't get many more details about the game; it's likely Rockstar doesn't want to play its hand ahead of the trailer's release.
Houser refers to Rockstar's upcoming project specifically as "the next Grand Theft Auto" and not Grand Theft Auto 6, although this could just be Rockstar once again playing its cards close to its chest.
Rockstar's work on GTA 6 has been the subject of much speculation and discussion for many years now, especially in the absence of any official announcements from the studio.
In July last year, a major leak revealed certain elements of GTA 6's development, including a live service-style business model, a female main character, and a fictionalized version of Miami as the setting.
Rockstar subsequently responded to these leaks, confirming that they were legitimate and that the studio was "extremely disappointed" for the information to have been revealed in this way.
Following this fiasco, Goat Simulator 3 publisher Coffee Stain rather ill-advisedly included leaked GTA 6 footage in an ad for its game, causing the ad to get hit with a DMCA.
We'll have to wait and see whether these leaks have affected Grand Theft Auto 6's development.
Indeed, Rockstar hasn't officially confirmed that the new game is even called Grand Theft Auto 6, so it's all to play for.
The new Grand Theft Auto trailer will be released sometime in early December. Stay tuned for more info on that, of course, and on all things Grand Theft Auto and Rockstar in general.
