The Finals Season 2 is here, and it's bringing a brand new "glitchy" cityscape map, as well as a new two-team gameplay mode, new weapons for you to check out, and more.
First up, you're getting a new map by the name of Horizon. Developer Embark Studios describes it as a "glitchy, colorful cityscape", and it's got an 80s-inspired neon aesthetic, much like the rest of the season.
A new two-team game mode has also been added in the form of Power Shift, a "casual 5v5" mode in which you must escort a platform through the arena. Think Splatoon's Rainmaker mode or Foamstars' Rubber Duck Party and you're not far off.
A new tutorial has also been added in order to show new players the ropes more effectively. Embark says it's also worth going through the tutorial if you haven't played The Finals for a while.
Three new weapons are making their debut in this season: the burst-fire FAMAS assault rifle, the 93R handgun (which also specializes in burst fire), and the KS-23 shotgun.
You'll also find a number of new gadgets to play with, including the matter-erasing Dematerializer, the "limited-range deployable portal"-generating Gateway, and the gravity-manipulating Anti-Gravity Cube.
Embark is also introducing a new way to earn rewards in The Finals in the form of the Career Circuit, which allows players to cash in a set of contracts for in-game rewards each week.
Lastly in terms of major updates, The Finals Season 2 adds improved League ranking methods intended to provide a better ranked experience, as well as the first iteration of the game's Private Match feature, in which you can organize games among friends.
