Fall Guys

Fall Guys keeps on truckin' in its latest update, which is the Fall Guys Season 6 Mid-Season update. In it, Fall Guys crossplay has finally been implemented, which I'm sure will come as a relief to some players, as this cool tech is only available for PlayStation and PC players right now. While this is a bummer for Xbox and Nintendo Switch players, at least it's something, right? Some Fall Guys crossplay is better than nothing, even if everyone can't play right now. Switch and Xbox players will get it eventually, but for now PlayStation and PC players are the Cool Guys, amirite?

On top of this good news regarding the Mid-Season update, there's some more good news about a new game-mode called Sweet Thieves coming to the game, and there's also a bunch of bug fixes. Let's check it out, shall we?

What's in the Fall Guys crossplay update?

Previously, players were able to form cross-platform lobbies in Custom Shows, but now PlayStation and PC players will be able to party up in Squads, Duos, Main Show, and beyond. To do this, players have to link their Epic Accounts to the game and then use the "Invite Players" functionality. If you haven't linked your account yet, you can do so here.

Sweet Thieves isn't in the game yet, but it's coming very soon. The Round is split into two types of players: Thieves, and Guardians. Thieves will navigate the level to secure and steal candy pieces while the Guardians will locate and detain the Thieves, which will send them to Jail. If that happens it isn't Game Over for you, as Thieves can free each other if they work together. A new mechanic exclusive to this mode is that players will be able to make their Fall Guy walk instead of run, which I'm sure will come in handy when you're sneaking around being sneaky. A trailer and a deep-dive will be coming soon.

As for fixes and improvements, probably the biggest is a fix to custom lobbies, which would sometimes fail on the second playthrough, forcing players to make new lobbies. Another few are players being able to stand on the central pillar and evade the spinning bars in Jump Showdown, and fixing issues in Squads where the Round would end early after a timer is displayed and fixing Jump Showdown time-outs on Squads, which would eliminate victorious players. That last one actually sounds hilarious, but yeah, that definitely needed to be fixed.

Fall Guys is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
