Exit The Gungeon has received a free content update across all platforms. Hello To Arms adds a bunch of new stuff including a new game mode, boss, and several new weapons. The game also goes live on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One today.
What's in this Exit The Gungeon update?
Hello To Arms' main new feature is its Arsenal Mode. This new Exit the Gungeon game mode makes weapons available as loot in addition to being purchasable in shops. You can hold as many of these weapons as you like and can use them whenever you want, but they have limited ammo, so you'll have to find more to keep them relevant. Dodge Roll says this mode was designed "to be more reminiscent of Enter the Gungeon's gun management".
You'll also find that Bello's shop in the game has been expanded. You can now access the shop twice on each floor, with the second shop replacing the normal mid-floor room. The second shop has several optional challenge rooms and NPC doors that you can either explore or skip at your leisure. According to Dodge Roll, this will grant players who explore every one of Exit the Gungeon's rooms more items and also provide a reliable source of weapons for Arsenal Mode.
Are there any other new features in Hello To Arms?
There are also a number of smaller new features that have been added in this new Exit the Gungeon update. The "Glocktopus" (see what they did there?) is a new optional boss you can choose to take on if you'd like. There's also a new NPC called the Ledge Goblin, who brings with her a brand new minigame. This being a Dodge Roll game, you'll find plenty of new weapons and items to discover in dungeons. Perhaps most importantly, however, Dodge Roll says you can now pet the dog. I'm sure you'll join me in agreeing that this is a feature all games need. If the game has no dog, put one in so we can pet it.
