Celeste developer Extremely OK Games Ltd. has announced Earthblade, its first new project in quite a few years. What this game is (and when you can get it), however, is a bit of a mystery this time.

Earthblade wasn't created lightly. In fact, this is the fourth prototype created by the developer post-Celeste, so it certainly looks like there was a fair amount of experimenting going on behind the scenes at Extremely OK Games Ltd.

What's the game about, though? As today's announcement (via Ryan Brown on Twitter) highlights, a poster and a music teaser have been released on a separate web page. The poster shows the logo, a gigantic sword stuck in the ground in the background, a bird sitting on some kind of tower, and a small house in the foreground. Beyond that, we don't really know much else; Extremely OK Games Ltd. is calling this a "vibe reveal" with that barest of details.

When is the Earthblade Release Date?

Unfortunately, an Earthblade release date has not yet been revealed by Extremely OK Games. Then again, it hasn't revealed much else about the project, either. The Celeste developer is being pretty cheeky about the whole thing, but it looks like they think you'll love this upcoming project.

"It'll probably be a while before you get more information about Earthblade," read a portion of today's announcement. "When we finally do show it off, be sure to point your feet away from animals and small children, and prepare for your footwear to be blasted clean off your feet."

We'll probably be waiting goodness knows how long until we learn more details about this game, but at least it's cool to hear that a new game is on the way. For now, you can buy Extremely OK Games' newest title Celeste for PC and consoles starting at $19.99 or your regional equivalent.

What do you think Earthblade is going to be about? Do you think it can live up to the indie success of Celeste? Let us know in the comments below!
