Today Electronic Arts announced EA Sports WRC, a brand-new Rally racing simulator coming this year.
The game is developed by Codemasters, well-known for its work on the DiRT Rally series. It will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store and EA App) on November 3, 2023.
It's an officially licensed FIA World Rally Championship game, so you can expect 18 official locations summing up to 600km of asphalt, gravel, and snow.
10 current WRC, WRC2, and Junior WRC cars are also included, on top of 68 historical vehicles from the past of the sport.
You can also build your own Rally car selecting the chassis, body shells, and mechanical, customising the interior and exterior, and editing the livery.
32 player cross-platform multiplayer is supported, alongside EA's Racenet companion app.
Pre-ordering the game will grant you five VIP Rally Passes that can be redeemed for additional post launch content, livery and apparel packs, and up to three days of early access, so you'll be able to play on October 31.
You can check out a trailer below and see the game in action.
The press release came with a comment from Ross Gowing, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters.
EA Sports WRC is the purest form of motorsport where every stage is a fight against the clock, the terrain, and yourself.
This is the rally game we’ve always wanted to make, combining our studio’s deep knowledge and expertise with the power of the official WRC license representing the pinnacle of rally motorsport.
The game’s new engine has enabled us to push rally to the edge of what’s deemed possible, and the additional features, including Builder and Moments, give players even more ways to interact with the sport they love.
