It seems World War 2 is getting popular again. During an interview with Geoff Keighley, Randy Pitchford has confirmed that a new Brothers in Arms game is currently in development.

(Relevant part about 7 minutes in)

During the interview, Geoff asks about the rumors that a new Brothers in Arms game was in development, and Randy confirmed it was being worked on, but that it wasn't ready to be shown yet. Probably much to the joy of fans, it was confirmed that this would be an "authentic" and mainline entry to the series and that it even had Sgt. Baker in it. Randy then talked about how some of the problems came about with Ubisoft having a different vision on the IP than Gearbox did, alluding that it may have been the cause of the failed Furious 4, but that Gearbox now owns the IP and can do it the way the want. He finally noted that part of the inspiration came from working with Telltale on Tales From the Borderlands, and how Telltale taught them how you can make an engaging gameplay out of story telling. While it sounds like the game will still be a tactics-heavy shooter, there may be an increased focus on telling the squad's story.

The Brothers in Arms series started out on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC with the 2005 Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30. It was followed by a sequel, Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood, the same year and then a 2008 entry on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC named Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway. At E3 2011 Gearbox announced Brothers in Arms: Furious 4, a goofier spin-off title that looked closer to Inglorious Bastards than the more serious other entries in the series. The game was canceled in 2015 and all has been quite since then.
