Bandai Namco has announced Doraemon: Story of Seasons, a title that will mash the classic Story of Seasons series with popular anime Doraemon for a farming experience coming Fall 2019. In this new adventure, Doraemon main character Nobita and his friends take part in the activities that the Story of Seasons series is known for including raising livestock, hunting bugs, planting crops, exploring the area beyond the fields of your farm in Doraemon: Story Of Seasons. First published in manga form in 1969 and adapted for the first time as an anime in 1973, Doraemon follows the young Nobita Nobe as him and his friends encounters the titular robo Doraemon. Doraemon, a time-traveling robot cat from the 22ed century, then helps Nibita on his adventures by using high-tech gadgets he pulls from the pocket on the front of his body, a tradition carried on by the game. The series is has been beloved in its home country of Japan for decades and has produced, as of writing, three television anime series and 39 movies.
Published by Bandai Namco, Story of Seasons is a series of farming simulators with roots going all the way back to the SNES where it was originally called Harvest Moon. While a split led to the series name leaving with Natsume, much of the team that made up the famed series works on Story of Seasons and past titles have been retconned to it. In these games, the player takes on the role of a rookie farmer who is given the chance to strike out on their own and run a farm. Working the land, tending to animals, and making trips to town to sell your goods and chat up townfolks all figure into the daily life in the series and make for a rich play experience that gamers have enjoyed for years.
