Disney Games has announced the release date of its upcoming platformer Gargoyles Remastered.
Apparently, the game will stick to the old generation with a launch on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 19.
It was announced roughly a year ago at the Disney & Marvel Games Showcase, and now we finally know when it's coming.
Gargoyles Remastered is developed by San Diego-based Empty Clip Studios, and has helped with the development of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, on top of working on retro-style games like Streets of Kamurocho and A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV.
The new game will let you instantly switch between old-style graphics (but retaining the gameplay enhancements) and remastered ones. It'll also include a feature that will let you instantly rewind the game should you take a fall.
The announcement was accompanied by a trailer, which you can watch below, showcasing the new visuals, gameplay, and new features.
If you're unfamiliar with Gargoyles, it originally launched in 1995, developed by Disney Software for Sega Genesis. It was very well received and it still has quite the cull following. Interestingly, a Super Nes version was canceled and the source code of the game has since been made public by programmer Chris Shrigley.
It's inspired by the TV series of the same name produced by Walt Disney Television Animation. It debuted in 1994 and counts 3 seasons, for a whole 78 episodes.
