Someone had a bit of a whoopsie over at the official PlayStation Twitter: Destroy All Humans 2 - Reprobed has been accidentally revealed and will be making its way to the PS5 in the future.
The Destroy All Humans! franchise was a product of the mid-2000s and originally launched on the PS2 and Xbox. It was followed by three sequels over the next several years, and then the franchise basically dropped off of the radar.
Everything changed when THQ Nordic announced a remake of the first game back in June 2019. It certainly lived up to the original and even improved the gameplay in a few interesting ways; that shouldn't come as a surprise when you learn about all of the hard work Black Forest Games did to bring this old game back to life. Now, it looks like a remaster of the franchise's second game is on the way based on a now-deleted tweet from the official PlayStation account.
"The Earthlings won't know what hit 'em," read the deleted tweet. "Crypto returns in Destroy All Humans 2 - Reprobed, coming to PS5."
Destroy All Humans 2 - Reprobed would be a direct follow-up to last year's remaster of the first game. Set 10 years later, Crypto (or rather, one of his successor clones) is viewed as a threat by the USSR's KGB. This results in the KGB destroying the Furon mothership with a nuclear missile. Understandably, this really upsets Crypto and sets him on a path for revenge.
Update (09/14/21, 9:48 PM Eastern) - It looks like a trailer for Destroy All Humans 2 - Reprobed was also released in the wild at some point, possibly on YouTube. While that trailer link is gone, someone has managed to reupload it on YouTube:
When is the Destroy All Humans 2 - Reprobed Release Date?
Unfortunately, the Destroy All Humans 2 - Reprobed release date is not yet known. The tweet was deleted and a trailer uploaded to YouTube does not mention a release date. That means we'll likely have to wait until PlayStation makes the official announcement at the intended time -- we expect to learn more at the upcoming THQ Nordic event coming on September 17, 2021, that was announced earlier this evening.
For now, there's still plenty of fun to be had with last year's Destroy All Humans! remaster! You can buy Destroy All Humans! for PC and consoles via its official website at the price of $29.99 or your regional equivalent.
