Desperados 3 closed beta has been announced and developer Mimimi Productions is looking for people to help test their game. This upcoming real-time tactics game puts players in the middle of the United States and Mexico in the 1870s, a time when the west was at its wildest.

Players will take control of a group of five characters, each with their own unique set of skills. Open combat is suicidal in this game, so you'll have to approach your enemies stealthily and whittle away at their numbers using cleverness and guile. If you're terrible at stealth games, worry not — a variety of difficulty options and special replayability challenges will be available, too.

It's important to note that this isn't going to be a marketing gimmick — this is an actual closed beta test. Read this statement from the Steam Community post announcing the Desperados 3 closed beta:

"This is not [a] "pre order now to play the game before anyone - but we don't really need you feedback because release is in just two weeks"-closed beta, people might be used to nowadays. We really want to invite the community to play the game while it’s still under construction and share their thoughts and wishes with us. And we want to have the time to react to the players’ input and to optimize the game together," — Mimimi Games Narrative Director Dennis Huszak
Players can sign up for the Desperados 3 closed beta by filling out this form. You'll be able to get your hands on this game sometime later in 2019. In the meantime, you can add Desperados 3 to your wishlist on Steam. You can also get the previous games Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive and Desperados 2: Cooper's Revenge at a discount as part of the Steam Summer Sale 2019 for $1.24 and $2.49, respectively — a 75% discount off of their retail prices. You can see what this game is like by watching the trailer below.

Will you enter the Desperados 3 closed beta? What do you think of this style of game? Let us know in the comments below!
