Colossal Order has shared another Cities: Skylines 2 Word of the Week column, and this one is all about what the studio is doing to "fix" the game.

Previous columns have contained things like deep dives into certain mechanics and discussions about forthcoming features, but this one gets right into the nitty-gritty of what Colossal Order is doing to "set things right".

In the column, Colossal Order CEO Mariina Hallikainen says that the team knows there is a "mountain to climb" when it comes to delivering on expectations, but that her studio has its "ice picks ready" and is "used to the cold".

Colossal Order knows it's facing an uphill battle fixing Cities: Skylines 2, but it seems determined to fight that battle.

According to Hallikainen, Colossal Order is currently working on modding support, "missing platforms", Ultimate Edition content, and performance fixes.

She acknowledges, however, that although the team is seeing "progress on all fronts", only time will tell whether this work will be enough to turn things around for Cities: Skylines 2.

Hallikainen also shares a little information about how the feedback process works for Cities: Skylines 2. It's a seven-step process that starts with collecting player feedback and ends with patching based on said feedback, although there are, of course, a number of stages in between.

A number of smaller questions are also answered in the new Word of the Week column.

Cycle paths are being added to Cities: Skylines 2, although Hallikainen and Colossal Order don't know when. More animations are also on the way, along with new types of buildings, some of which you'll have to pay for.

It's well worth checking out this week's full Word of the Week column, especially if you're a frustrated Cities: Skylines 2 player waiting for more news on what's coming to the game going forward.

You can grab Cities: Skylines 2 right now on PC. It's also available on PC Game Pass and is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime this spring. You can read our very own Giuseppe's preview of the game here.
