The Chinese Parents update celebrating the Anniversary for the life sim is now live. The update adds a new system, new career features, and a prominent bug fix.
First up, there's a new Treasure Hunt system. Developer Moyuwan Games says you'll be able to unlock this feature after the game's 12th turn. The Treasure Hunt involves following a series of tips in order to hunt your family treasure. There are 9 treasure map pieces to discover in all and they'll be scattered throughout the game. You'll only be able to play Treasure Hunt until October 31st, so if you're interested then get started now.
The Anniversary Update also adds some new stuff to Chinese Parents' Career mode. The new features will be available after you enter a new generation or start a new save file. You'll find an entirely new NPC waiting for you, as well as new stories. In addition, there are 14 new traits and skills. Moyuwan doesn't say what those traits and skills are, so you'll have to play the game if you want to find out.
Lastly in this Chinese Parents Update, a notorious bug has been squashed. If you've played Chinese Parents and noticed that some lines of text have been displaying outside their boxes, this update should fix that issue. If there's anything else you've noticed that needs to be fixed - or if you just want to chat about the game - you should email publisher Coconut Island Studio.
Chinese Parents is a life sim created by developer Moyuwan Games and publisher Coconut Island Studio. You play as "an average kid" in China from birth until the end of high school. You'll make friends, study hard, and aim to pass the critical Gaokao exam at the end of the game. Each new game is a new generation of your family, so you'll pass traits on to your kids every time you start anew. Chinese Parents is on Steam for 36% off until October 8th, so go check it out.
