Today Capcom revealed new details and shared new footage of its upcoming action strategy game Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess.
We hear more about the setting, which is a mountain that has been affected by a blight called "Defilement." On the mountain, you can find many Torii (sacred gates) from which enemies called "Seethe" invade the land.
The protagonist named Soh is tasked with protecting the maid Yoshiro and freeing the mountain from the Seethe.
The game has a real-time day and night cycle and you can guide Yoshiro around during the day to purify villagers from the Defilement. After they have been purified, you can then recruit them to help you fight and they have different roles that determine the way they can fight.
Villagers with different roles can be placed in different locations to counter the Seethe more effectively when they invade at night. Of course, Soh himself will have to fight them in action combat.
The game also features powerful bosses called "Festering Seethe," which are challenging encounters that require utilizing the villagers and Soh's powers in a tactical way.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will be released in 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It certainly looks like a rather unique game, mixing third-person action and strategy gameplay in a rather unexpected way.

During the same event, Capcom revealed new details about the upcoming Dragon's Dogma 2, including today's release of the Character Creator and Storage app, which lets you create your Arisen and pawns and store them to use when the game launches in two weeks.
