A new Call of Duty Zombies Onslaught game mode has been announced for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, but don't celebrate just yet — this new co-op game mode will be exclusive to PS4 and PS5 for the first year.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be launching in just a few weeks and players are excited to get into the next game of the franchise, especially with the reveal that the Zombies game mode would be returning in the new game. Now, it's been revealed that Black Ops Cold War will also feature the Call of Duty Zombies Onslaught game mode, but not everyone is going to get to play it right away.

What is Call of Duty Zombies Onslaught?
As CharlieINTEL reports, Call of Duty Zombies Onslaught will be a 2-player cooperative experience. Both players can select from a number of the game's maps and try their best to fight off multiple waves of incoming zombies. Naturally, each successive wave will be more difficult than the last.
You can be equipped with various different weapons from the game — good news for those who don't want to have to grind in this new game mode. A "Dark Aether" orb will confine players to certain areas of the map; once the wave is conquered, the Dark Aether orb will move and players will have to transition to a new location for the next wave.
There's one question that's still up in the air — will players be able to escape in Call of Duty Zombies Onslaught? Call of Duty recently made a substantial change to Zombies by allowing players to escape from the Zombie horde and extract from the level. Unfortunately, it's not yet clear if escaping will be possible in this co-op game mode.
When is the Call of Duty Zombies Onslaught Release Date?
The Call of Duty Zombies Onslaught release date appears to be the same day that the game comes out: November 13, 2020. Unfortunately, this release date is only for PS4 players.
Previously, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's Special Ops mode was announced as a one-year exclusive for the PS4. That exclusivity arrangement ended last month... just in time for a new Call of Duty game to come out. By the time Call of Duty Zombies Onslaught is released, a whole new game in the franchise may already be out. For now, you can pre-order the game for PC and consoles via its official website starting at $59.99 or your regional equivalent.
