Team Reptile has announced that the Bomb Rush Cyberfunk release date will be pushed back to the summer of 2023. They state that they really need more time to produce a game that they feel meets their quality standards, as well as ensure their vision is fully realized prior to release.

Why Was Bomb Rush Cyberfunk delayed by Team Reptile?

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is an interesting 3D action-adventure platformer that takes on several different features to keep the game not only quirky but fun. Players will take to the city, and spray graffiti, run from the cops, perform some intense tricks with their skateboards, and just run rampant. This game is a love letter to Jet Set Radio, an action game that was released in June of 2000, where the player controls the youth gang known as the GGs. In Jet Set Radio, we see the gang traverse Tokyo on inline skates, which is similar to Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, where we see them skate around the town on skateboards.

The devs of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk took to Twitter to announce the delay, where they state,

"About the release: We are convinced that releasing the game this year will not take it to a level where we would be personally satisfied with. To create a fulfilling and unique game we are extending the development time of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk to summer 2023."

They realize that to ensure the game reaches its full potential, they need to tweak and polish it up just a bit more. Though delays are slightly disheartening, they are sometimes necessary to give the players a game the devs are proud of.

Bomb Rush Cyberfunk does not have a set date for its release, but we know it will be around the Summertime of 2023. It will release on SteamNintendo Switch, and possibly other platforms as well, but that is not known for sure as of yet.
