Prepare to go to battle in Warlander, a third-person F2P multiplayer action title that will allow up to 100 players to fight robots and lay siege to one another. The game comes from Toylogic, the co-developers behind Nier Replicant. In this game, you'll be able to use the powers of warriors, clerics, mages, and siege weapons and spells to seize control of the battlefield.

Basically, the game has two modes: 2 Army Battle and 5 Army Battle modes. It'll combine MOBAs, the knock-out gameplay of battle royale, and 4X-inspired diplomacy. That sounds as intriguing as it does potentially messy, which is why the game's closed beta on December 20th (which leads up to the game's release in January) could be enticing to a lot of people.

As for signing up for the closed beta, the process is fairly easy. Players will need to join the official Discord and send a request for a closed beta Steam Key through DM to PLAION LIVE OPS#2022. Once that's done, assuming you're successful, you'll receive a key and Steam beta branch password before the start of the closed beta. When you have the game installed, you'll be able to opt into and gain access to the Closed Beta.

That's a nice castle you have there. Would be a shame if anyone lay siege to it.

Going back to the gameplay, you'll be roaming the battlefield as a castle defender to intercept the enemy, capture towers, and fire catapults. You might also have the use of anti-siege weapons, which sounds like fun as you build Valor points that can make your characters more powerful over time.

As you become more powerful, you'll have a loadout of customizable equipment, talents, and skills that you can use to fulfill specific roles. If a gate, wall, or bridge is destroyed and you need to push through a chokepoint, maybe you need a mage to clear up all the rabble, or a strong warrior to charge through and hold the line. The choice is yours.

Warlander is fully launching on January 24th for PC, so if you'd like more information on Warlander and other titles from Toylogic, stay tuned to TechRaptor.
